DD Squad

Built to push the limits.

DD Squad, also known as Dunking Devils Squad, is a Slovenian extreme stunt and acrobatic team formed within Dunking Devils. What began as a group of friends creating ambitious trampoline and acrobatic videos evolved into a team combining elite acrobatics, extreme sports, engineering and filmmaking.

The story

From Dunking Devils to DD Squad

DD Squad grew from inside Dunking Devils.

After years of performing acrobatic basketball around the world, members of Dunking Devils began experimenting with a different kind of playground — online video. They started creating short clips, unusual tricks, challenges and increasingly ambitious stunts that did not need to fit within the format of a traditional live performance.

The camera became part of the creative process. The question was no longer only What can we perform live? It became What can we imagine, build, attempt — and capture on camera?

In 2018, this direction developed into DD Squad: a dedicated group focused on original stunts, trampoline projects, extreme challenges and digital content.

Trampolines and acrobatics remained at the core. But the playground became much bigger than the basketball court.

Timeline

From dunkers to stunt creators

What started with basketballs and trampolines evolved into something much bigger.

  1. Before DD Squad

    The experiments begin

Members of Dunking Devils start experimenting with YouTube videos, short clips, unusual tricks, challenges and stunts beyond traditional live performances.

  2. 2017

    The MegaTramp

A 10 × 10 metre MegaTramp — designed and produced in partnership with AKROBAT Trampolines — creates an entirely new playground for extreme trampoline tricks, experiments and video projects. Instead of always adapting ideas to existing equipment, the team increasingly develops equipment around the ideas it wants to achieve.

  3. 2018

    DD Squad is born

A dedicated group forms within Dunking Devils, focused on original stunts, extreme challenges, trampoline projects and digital content. DD Squad — also known as Dunking Devils Squad — develops its own creative identity while remaining part of the wider Dunking Devils story.

  4. 2019

    From performers to content creators

Following increasingly ambitious video projects, including the Fly Guys era, DD Squad develops a stronger focus on content made specifically for digital audiences. Athletic performance, filmmaking and storytelling come together.

  5. By 2020

    100 million+ views

Published reporting states that DD Squad videos had already generated more than 100 million views. What began as experiments by Slovenian acrobats was reaching audiences around the world.

  6. Next phase

    Bigger ideas. Bigger builds.

Conventional sports equipment is no longer always enough. The team combines professional acrobatics with experimentation, physics, construction and engineering: giant trampolines, custom stunt equipment, Russian swings, launch systems and water projects become part of the DD Squad identity.

  7. Human launch systems

    Engineering meets extreme sports

DD Squad develops and tests large-scale human launch systems, including a human cannon. For a Red Bull project, the team developed three giant human catapults, combining engineering, testing, safety work and stunt execution.

  8. Viral worldwide

    Millions start watching

Individual projects and short-form clips reach enormous international audiences, with some uploads passing tens of millions of views.

  9. Physics

    Physics becomes the playground

Speed, trajectory, acceleration, relative motion and gravity become real-world physical challenges — a content category that sits between extreme sports, science, engineering and entertainment.

  10. Records

    Record-breaking ambition

DD Squad keeps pushing trampoline performance through height and record-oriented projects that combine athlete performance, equipment development, testing, measurement, filmmaking and storytelling.

  11. Today

    Acrobatics. Extreme sports. Engineering. Filmmaking.

DD Squad continues exploring what happens when professional athletes, filmmakers, builders and ambitious ideas meet.

Behind the stunts

We build the stunts we dream up.

DD Squad combines professional acrobatics with engineering, experimentation and filmmaking. Many projects begin with an idea that existing sports equipment was never designed to make possible.

That has led the team to develop and experiment with giant trampolines, human launch systems, Russian swings and custom-built stunt equipment — turning ideas from physics, engineering and imagination into real-world challenges.

MegaTramp

10 × 10 m giant trampoline

Built in partnership with AKROBAT Trampolines: 2.5 m high plus a 2 m safety fence, needing a 10 × 10 m footprint. DD Squad reports a highest bounce of 14 m (46 ft) on it.

Science at human scale

Scientific ideas turned into full-scale challenges — like testing relative motion by launching an athlete backwards off a truck at 80 km/h.
